ZIP ZONE EXPRESS TIP OFF CLASSIC AT MARTIN CO. HIGH SCHOOL

Inez, Ky. — It’s that time of year for the Annual Zip Zone Express Tip Off Classic at Martin Co. High school with a bunch of good games on the slate this Saturday. 

A total of 9 games will be played with the first game of the day a boys middle school game at 9:20 Saturday morning between Martin Co. Middle and Dorton Middle out of Pike Co. and the last game of the day will be Tug Valley ( W. Va. ) versus the Lawrence Co. Bulldogs at 8:00 Saturday night. 

Martin Co. girls led by Hall of Fame Coach Robin Harmon along with Juniors Katie Marcum and Laken Williams will play Chapmanville ( W. Va. ) at 5:20. 

The Martin Co. boys led by Head Coach Jason James along with senior Matt Linville and junior Luke Hale will face Logan ( W. Va. ) at 6:40. 

In the last game of the day Lawrence Co. led by Head Coach Chandler Thompson, senior Will Lafferty making his return to Martin County and and Junior Andrew Bloomfield will take on Tug Valley ( W. Va. ) at 8:00. 

#2 Andrew Bloomfield will be a key component for the Bulldogs this upcoming season. 

The regular season in Kentucky will officially begin on Monday November 29th for boys and girls high school basketball. 

Martin Co. Girls will open the season with a home game against Betsy Layne on Monday. 

Lawrence Co. Girls will travel to West Carter on Tuesday to kickoff the season. 

Martin Co. Boys will travel to Russell on Tuesday for the season opener. 

Lawrence Co. Boys will entertain Morgan Co. on Tuesday to get the season started.
