Ze plane, ze plane!

ZE PLANE, ZE PLANE?

LOUISA, Ky. — The rumors have been flying since an apparent plane crash showed up behind Joe Young Insurance in Louisa several weeks ago.

From a prop for an X Box game, to it has been there and was dug up from years ago. The Lazer wanted to set the record straight for the inquiring minds that want to know.

Eddie Blankenship, owner of several businesses in Louisa, owns the site where the apparent plane crash is located, solved the mystery in an interview over the weekend.

In this photo you can see how Eddie Blankenship is cutting down the hill where the mystery plane is located.

“It’s a prop for a business sign,” Blankenship, who owns most of the billboards in Louisa, said. “We are not finished with it yet. There is lots more coming as soon as I get the hill taken all the way down for more parking and putting the old Dollar store building back up beside the building that is currently there.”

Blankenship said the most popular rumor is that they dug it up while excavating the property for the new building and billboard.

“A lot of people have asked me if we dug it up, maybe a plane crash from years ago. I’ve heard all kinds of rumors. It’s been fun and interesting! Blankenship grinned.”

He did not say where he got the wrecked plane.

Even if it wasn’t there for the reason’s the people of Louisa believed… I agree, it has been interesting!

I have heard so many rumors and I KNEW what was going on and have seriously had a blast listening to the tall tall tails!

I remember a forced landing in high bottom back in the early fifties. I think they fixed that one and it took off never to be seen again. Maybe it didn’t make it over the rise? Without a tail number it will be hard to track the craft. Maybe look for DNA? Also, watch out if you see green jelly-like puddles. They (government) might have moved it from Roswell. A 3-D survey might be in order. Cadaver dogs might be another approach.

That is what’s left of a Cirrus. Someone on Facebook posted the picture at the top of the page as “a plane that crashed in Lawrence County in the 1970’s” Not possible, the Cirrus companies first a/c didn’t fly until 1988 as a kit airplane, and in 1994 as a production aircraft. I knew it was fishy!
