Kentucky State Police Investigates Fatal Fire in Laurel County

London, Ky. (October 30, 2022) – Kentucky State Police, Post 11, London received a call for assistance from Laural County Dispatch around 01:00 am with a structure fire on Terrell Road 10 south of London in Laurel County.

 After the fire was extinguished, firefighters discovered one human remain inside the burnt residence. The victim was 54-year-old Melissa S. Creech of London, KY. Laurel County Coroner’s Office pronounced Melissa Creech deceased on scene.  Investigators are working together to determine the cause of the fire.

 Kentucky State Police Trooper Steve Walker in continuing the investigation he was assisted on scene by Ky Fire Marshalls Office, Several Local Fire Department and Laurel County Coroner’s Office. This case remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police.
