On the morning of July 14, 2024 at 9:02 AM, William Michael Ellis went home to be with the Lord. He was surrounded by his wife, two children, five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, brothers, sisters, and friends.

William Michael Ellis was born on June 25, 1953, to the late Marlene & Trimble Rowe. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his adopted father Newton Ellis; and brothers Tom Ellis and Mark Ellis. He is survived by his wife of 51 years Dana Ellis; step mother Kay Rowe;  Aunt Emily Tackett, children Leslie and Chad Dunlap and William Bradley Ellis; grandchildren Caleb & Chelsea Bailey, Mikah & Josh Barnard, Bryce Mallow, Sheridan Ellis and Logan Ellis; great-grandchildren Jase Michael Wayne Barnard, Lakelynn Barnard, Baker Bailey, and Colson David James Barnard; brothers Tim (Ashontae) Ellis and James (Kathy) Ellis; sisters Lita Jo (Tom) Easter  & Janet Lynn Porterfield; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, aunts, and friends.

Mike loved his church, First Baptist of Louisa. He was a leader, a helper, a student, a mentor, and a Child of the Lord. He loved to spread the Word of God to others. He loved to teach people about the Bible. We know that Mike is already indulging into Jesus’ teachings, asking questions, and rejoicing with friends, animals, and family in Heaven.

Mike was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend. He loved spending time out on the water with a rod in his hand. He loved to feed his birds and watch them eat from his feeders. He loved looking at weather patterns and learning about the stars and other astronomical phenomena. He loved to talk, watch, and learn about all kinds of sports.

He will be extremely missed by everyone he had an impact on their life. As a family, we understand that this is a time of sadness, but we want you to remember the amazing times we had with Mike and that we will see him again. For that we rejoice!

Visitation service will be held on Thursday, July 18th, from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Louisa. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, July 19th at 11:0 AM First Baptist Church of Louisa with Pastor Chuck Price and Pastor Tim Ellis officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to help offset the funeral costs.

Young Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Mr. Ellis and his family.
