A formerly celebrated teacher/teacher’s aide in Greenup County,Ky., who was recently employed with Russell Independent Schools, has been indicted on child sex crime charges by a grand jury in Greenup County, after an investigation by the Kentucky State Police.
According to a news press release statement on November 11 from the Kentucky State Police, Post 14, in Ashland, in Boyd County, Ky., KSP trooper Jeff Moore received a complaint that Mariah Scott was having an inappropriate relationship with one of her students she had in class beginning in 2019.
During the inquiring investigation, state police investigators discovered and determined there were inappropriate text messages between the student and Mariah Scott; and that there was also illegal physical contact between Mariah Scott and the student.
Mariah Scott has been indicted on the charges of:
- PROHIBITED USE OF ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATION SYSTEM TO PROCURE MINOR/SEX OFFENSE; and 2 separate charge counts of
- UNLAWFUL TRANSACTION WITH A MINOR 3RD DEGREE.
Kentucky State Police Post 14 Public Affairs Officer, Trooper Shane Goodall, confirmed that Mariah Scott, 29, of Raceland, was indicted in Greenup County for prohibited use of an electronic communication system to procure a minor for sex and two counts of unlawful transaction with a minor.
Mariah Scott formerly taught at Russell High School but was most recently a teacher’s aide with Russell Independent Schools.
The alleged suspect, Mariah Scott, was born with Tetra-amelia syndrome, resulting in her having no arms or legs, and was celebrated in the local and regional press in 2018 after becoming the first Kentuckian to receive a robotic arm. As of this late weekend ending November 15, Mariah Scott has as of yet been arrested on the indictment; but that may be due to her rare significant handicap that most likely for any local jail facility could not adequately give the care for Mariah Scott.

KENTUCKY STATE POLICE ARRESTS GRANT COUNTY MAN IN SEXUAL MISCONDUCT INVESTIGATION

The Kentucky State Police, Post 6, in Dry Ridge, arrested a Grant County man yesterday morning after receiving a report of an adult male engaging in inappropriate physical contact with two minors on multiple occasions.
According to a news press release statement on November 11, from the Kentucky State Police, Post 6 in Dry Ridge, in Grant County, Ky., the initial investigation by the KSP alleges Terry Lee Jackson, 60, of Williamstown, participated in sexual misconduct with two female juveniles.
As a result of the KSP investigation, Terry Lee Jackson was lodged at the Grant County Detention Center in Williamstown, and has been charged with the following:*UNLAWFUL TRANSACTION WITH/MINOR, 1ST DEGREE, ILLEGAL CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, UNDER/16 YEARS OF AGE, *CUSTODIAL INTERFERENCE, *RAPE, 1ST DEGREE, *SODOMY, 1ST DEGREE. *POSSESS/VIEW MATTER PORTRAY SEXUAL PERFORMANCE BY MINOR.
Terry Lee Jackson is currently being held on a $100,000 full cash bond only. The ongoing investigation is being conducted by KSP Post 6 Trooper Jeffrey Gaby.
at least in greenup county they did something about it unlike in Lawrence county where they protected a predator in 2010-11 . karma got him this month though. he’ll not prey on another young Lawrence county high school girl.

I had the pleasure of meeting Mariah years ago when she was just a child, and frankly she absolutely changed my life. She is one of the most amazing and sweet people I have ever known. And frankly the title of this article is almost as disturbing, grossly insensitive, and just as WRONG as the charges brought against her. Please keep her and her family in your prayers during this difficult time.
I guess she shouldn’t be trying to have sex with kids then.
