WAYNE SHERIFF’S MEN TAKE DOWN FOUR MAJOR HEROIN, METH, AND COCAINE DEALERS

Sheriff Rick Thompson stated a drug investigation by the Wayne County Sheriff Drug Enforcement Unit resulted in the arrests of men from Mexico, Arizona, and WV.

Sheriff Thompson stated that the Wayne County Sheriff Drug Enforcement Unit began the investigation approximately 6 months ago. Sheriff Thompson stated that due to the circumstances the execution of the search warrant was high risk and the WV State Police SRT was contacted to make entry to the residence.

Cloninger

Sheriff Thompson stated that Brian Uriartes of Arizona, Luis Martinez-Torres of Mexico, Travis Cloninger and Edward Kent Stephens both of Huntington were arrested.

Sheriff Thompson stated that the Wayne County Sheriff Drug Enforcement Unit seized several hundred grams of Heroin, Crystal Methamphetamine, Crack Cocaine, multiple firearms, cash, and other evidence.

Sheriff Thompson stated that each suspect is facing several felony drug related charges.

Travis Cloninger and Edward Stephens are additionally charged with being felons in Possession of Firearms.

Sheriff Thompson stated that the Violent Crime and Drug Task Force West assisted in the case.
