WAYNE COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT

Sheriff Rick Thompson announced five arrests that have occurred within the last week.

On June 6, Daniel K Nelson of Crum and Thomas Watts were arrested on felony warrants from Kentucky. This is just two arrests made in cooperation with the U.S. Marshall’s Cuffed Task Force of which a Wayne County Deputy is assigned to in addition to his other duties with the department. Sheriff Thompson compliments the accomplishments of his deputy as well as the unit in the pursuit of felony fugitives in both WV and KY as well as other neighboring states.

Mary Dean Bryant, 42, of Ft. Gay Sheriff Thompson also notes the arrests of two additional suspects who were arrested following an investigation by the Wayne County Drug Enforcement Unit over the last week. Mary Dean-Bryant of Fort Gay was arrested for Delivery of a Controlled Substance (heroin) and Conspiracy by the US Marshals Cuffed Task Force Unit. Tony Marcum was also arrested and charged with Conspiracy, Obstructing and Possession of Heroin.

Marcum was arrested by Sheriff John Kirk of Martin County KY.

A traffic stop led to the arrest of David Mabry of Kiahsville. Mabry was pulled over for a traffic violation on Saturday. In his possession was a large quantity of Crystal Methamphetamine packaged for distribution and Marijuana also packaged for distribution.

WCSD Drug Enforcement Unit along with Sheriff Thompson and WCSD Deputies also found a gun and cash in Mabry’s possession. Mabry is charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver X 2, Pseudoephedrine Altered and two misdemeanors. He was taken to the Western Regional Jail.
