Monday Night authorities were called to a domestic situation on Farren Road in Wayne County. Upon arrival sheriff’s deputies arrested Jessie Dwayne Grimmet, 24, for Domestic Battery and Malicious Wounding.
Witnesses at the scene told deputies the female victim and the suspect had been arguing before the incident took place. The witnesses also told deputies she saw the suspect grab the victim by her hair and throw her against a couch.
Both witnesses heard the victim’s screams outside of the residence and found the victim had been stabbed in the back. The witness’s also told police they recognized the knife as the one Jessie Grimmet allegedly carries on him regularly.
The suspect told police he practices throwing knives on a regular basis and did not intentionally mean to stab her. They had been arguing throughout the evening and he was only trying to scare her, they said.
Jessie Grimmet is in the WV Western Regional Jail no bond has been set.
