Louisa Utility Meeting 3/6/18

The Louisa Utility Committee met for the regular meeting Tuesday, March 6, 2018. Those in attendance were Mayor Harold Slone, Sam Lester Member, Jeff Kinser Member, Jason Helton Utility Clerk and Steve Lycans Member. Absent were Heath Preston and Mitch Castle.

Motion by Jeff Kinser, second by Sam Lester to approve the minutes from the last meeting in February.

The Utility Committee reviewed their financials. Mayor Harold Slone stated, “We were hit with a lot of repairs last month. “

A discussion then took place about the water tank inspection. The quotes for this project were too high so the project is on hold until a new negotiation can be made.

There will be expenses to either clean, inspect and clean or replace all 6 tanks.

The committee then discussed and reviewed the update on the water main replacement project. This is the project that will replace the oldest water lines in the city.

The contract for the Engineering portion of the water main project was granted to Kentucky Engineering by city council.

A budget meeting is scheduled for April. The Mayor said, “This Committee is great because a lot of the concerns and business is all ready for the Council to act, making it a great addition to the city.”

The meeting was then adjourned.
