Wonder if will hire a LAWRENCE County person this time or go out of county again. Every deputy there now is from either another state or county…..Sad. Shows what is thought about Lawrence County workers in there. On another note would be full staff on deputies if hadn’t got rid of the one which was doing the majority of the work and from the county.

I don’t recall him getting rid of any deputies . It is hard to find some one that wants to work and have morals at the same time

Well must not have been keeping up with things because definitely got rid of one at the first of the year. Guess didn’t want showed up anymore. Shows the type of character there.

Again Maybe need to check your facts not one deputy was fired By sheriff Jackson they was one quit before he took office We As Lawrence county need to let the man do his job and not whine over little Pedley things that That does not mount to a Hill of beans hes done a good job for the last year

Nope one didn’t quit…..one was let go by the New Sheriff. Splitting hairs…fired/not letting them continue their service to Lawrence County is the same thing. Shows the type mind set to affect a persons livelihood and cut them loose from job they was dedicated to for so many years without running off like a certain one did and the came crawling back.

Did you forget the Chief Deputy who ran against your current Sheriff? Is he still there?

        • CO3 says:

Nope he isn’t there any more because the new sheriff terminated his employment with the sheriffs office when he took over. Didn’t make much sense to get rid of experience but hey a lot doesn’t make sense in there.

I understand your point about hiring local people, but training requirements sometimes make that not so easy. If he hires an untrained person, that person must be paid while in training for 16 or 18 weeks, that money comes from your pocket. And that new hire is not patrolling while being trained. If however the Sheriff hires a certified officer from elsewhere, they go to work day one.

It seems the Sheriff’s office would be full staffed and have a local deputy if the new sheriff hadn’t ran the chief deputy off. Then again elections come every 4 years and either the next sheriff will look out for the citizens and bring back experience or possibly that experience will be in the big seat next time.

I can lift a fork and run for the bathroom. I usually make it there. Think that’ll work?

I have found myself in the same situation, more than once! 🙂
