Walter Michael “Mike” Perry

Walter Michael “Mike” Perry, 66, of Huntington, formerly of Paragould, AR was taken suddenly to be with his Lord Jesus Christ on Tuesday December 27, 2016 at his residence in Barboursville. He was born June 18, 1950 in Fort Gay, WV to the late Walter and Jean Preston Perry. Mike was an avid outdoorsman and loved golfing, fishing, and hunting. Mike was a member of Big Hurricane Missionary Baptist, and also attended Unity Baptist in Ashland, Kentucky.

Mike had recently retired from ACF Industries (Huntington, WV) and American Railcar Industries (Paragould, AR) after 46 years of service, though he stayed busy with consulting for the company after his retirement. In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his cherished wife of 43 years, Helen Holt Perry.

Mike is survived by his loving fiancé, Teresa Matovich Carter of Catlettsburg, KY; one daughter Kelly Michell Perry and fiancé David Christian of Clearwater, FL; three grandsons who were his treasures on this earth, Michael Ryan Bruetsch and wife, Anne of Paragould, AR; Devin Bruetsch of Jonesboro, AR; Sheldon Bruetsch of Blacksburg, VA; a former son-in-law Dennis Bruetsch of Houston, TX; one sister Norma and Bob Chiarenzelli of Paragould, AR; five brothers, Tony and Marilyn Perry of Prichard, WV; Randy and Lisa Perry of Huntington, WV; Herb and Harriet Perry of Fort Gay, WV; Dennis and Rhonda Perry of Wayne, WV; and Loren and Tracey Perry of Wayne, WV.

Pall bearers will be Michael Ryan Bruetsch, Devin Bruetsch, Sheldon Bruetsch, Bob Chiarenzelli, Tony Perry, Randy Perry, Herb Perry, Dennis Perry, and Loren Perry.

Visitation will be held Friday December 30, 2016 from 6-9 pm at Young Funeral Home in Louisa, KY. Another visitation will take place from 11 am to noon on Saturday December 31, 2016 at Young Funeral Home in Louisa, KY with Pastor Dick Maynard officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery in Huntington, WV.
