Rachel Messer, 19, of Ft. Gay lost the Battle to potential season winner Katrina Cain, right, but she gained National Coverage throughout the country for herself and her hometown.

Fort Gay, WVa.’s Rachel Messer appeared again on ‘The Voice’  Monday night on NBC.

Although she lost in the the Battle round to Katrina Cain, who many believe may win the competition this year, Rachel gained National Coverage throughout country. Her two chair turn in the in “The Blinds” landed her a spot of series champ Blake Shelton’s team.

“The experience has been out of this world amazing,” Rachel told The Lazer this morning.  “Blake chose the song “Angel” by Sarah McLachlan for Katrina and I and  I wish everyone could have heard the full performance, I feel very proud and happy with my performance.”

Rachel, 19, a talented yodeler, performs for Billie Jean Osborne’s Kentucky Opry, where she sings and plays the mandolin in front of sold-out shows, NBC.com reports.

“She started singing in church at three years old, but was often teased about her dream. At 15, her parents decided to homeschool her so she could focus on music and academics. After winning her first big talent competition at 16, she knew she was on the right path. After stepping on to a plane for the first time, Rachel comes to “The Voice” to prove she’s dedicated to making her dreams come true,” The official NBC report said.

The local phenom said she is beyond thankful for the opportunity.

“It just wasn’t the Lord’s will that I move any further in the competition, but I’m beyond thankful for the amazing opportunity I’ve been I’ve been presented with, Rachel told The Lazer.  “This is only the beginning and VERY exciting things are coming!”

“I wish everyone could have heard the full performance, I feel very proud and happy with my performance,” Rachel told The Lazer.

(The Levisa Laser has been following up with Rachel who is very humble and supportive of her hometown. We will to continue to WATCH AND LISTEN as her career soars. We reported on her making the Knockout rounds after getting a tip but had to take the heading down because of contract rules, a member of her close-knit family wrote. But we got over 30,000 hits on that story and we were later able to announce that she had indeed made Blake’s team.)

I was really hoping for her to go farther but the competition is really strong. You made us proud Rachael. Don’t stop.
