Good afternoon. I called the judge executive’s office but was unable to get an answer. I’m not sure who else to ask or to maybe have it questioned but does any one know why the county treasurer and his wife use the county emergency truck for personal use?
If anyone needs a county vehicle, I would think that would be one of the last people on the list to use county/tax payer dollars, when they’re job is not to travel the county for business purposes. I pass their home at times going to visit relatives but didn’t know until the other day that was who resides there.
The truck has been parked there for some time but it seems odd they would be driving it daily back and forth to work, when they’re non emergency employees. I’m not even sure his wife is even an employee of the county. Maybe I’m just old and overstepping.
Also, why isn’t this a voted position for the county when they’re handling our finances. Shouldn’t they also have to have an accounting background? Maybe he does, I just know I have read the librarian requirements and if that’s required to fill that position, I’m sure to be county treasurer you would also need an accounting degree and background.

His wife is his secretary, and his office is their homeschool classroom.. how is that allowed?

This is the same person that last year had half a million dollar “computer error” on the reports.
Since this employee has no need to travel they have no need for a county taxpayer funded car. If it is occasional travel, put it on your expense report.
Are he and his secretary too busy homeschooling on county property to do their jobs? Why are we allowing homeschooling to take place by an employee that is on the clock in the first place? What is the liability to the county if one of the children gets hurt while there at school?
This county needs to wake up and get an outside audit from an out of state firm that will go through every department. The waste and abuse has to astronomical.
Ask the fire department. They use those vehicles for personal use. You see them at restaurants in Ashland.
If you look at all the workers for Phil they all use county vehicles. Phil himself just purchased a new Explorer for himself to drive. I know that the some of his workers also take county equipment home and use it for their own personal use. If you work for the county you get the perks. That’s basically why the fiscal court and workers are basically just Phil puppets and yes men. Bite the hand that feeds and there are consequences. Let me know when there’s a job opening for the county, I have some kids that need a classroom.
