VICTIM IN RT. 23 LOG TRUCK WRECK IDENTIFIED AS GREENUP CO MAN

LOWMANSVILLE, Ky. — A man was killed in a collision with a log truck early Tuesday morning on Rt. 23.

The crash happened around 6 a.m. on U.S. 23 at Lowmansville, according to Lawrence County Coroner Wes Heston.

Ky State Police Post 14 investigated the accident, which held up traffic in both directions for several hours, said a pickup truck driven by Christopher Devaney, 37, of Greenup County, collided with a log truck and the driver of the pickup died at the scene. The log truck was driven by James Swain, 61, of Virginia.

The case remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police, the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office and the Lawrence County Coroner’s Office.
