Velma Jewell Stevens

1941 — 2016

Velma Jewell Stevens, 75, of Louisa, Kentucky passed away Saturday, October 15, 2016 at her home.

She was born March 18, 1941 in Louisa, Kentucky the daughter of the late Jesse and Goldie Campbell Berry. Jewell was a homemaker but had retired from Orint State Medical Facility after many years of service, she was a member of Irish Creek Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Jesse and Goldie Berry, she was preceded in death by son, Phillip Barnett; grandson, Timmy Triplett; and brother, James Berry.

Survivors include, her loving husband of 45 years, Paul “Mousie” Stevens; daughter, Judy (Charles) Wilks Jr. of Louisa, Ky.; son, Homer D. (Laura) Stevens of Murfreesboro, TN.; six grandchildren, Amy Stone, Heath Stevens, Dustin Stevens, Samatha Thompson, Phillip A Barnett, Wesley A. Barnett; six great grandchildren, Justin Kitchen, Mariah Kitchen, Nolan Kitchen, Austin Stevens, Lilly Thompson, Jacob Thompson; sister, Helen Wright; brother, Charles Berry of Louisa, Ky..

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at Young Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Lincus Hogston officiating. Burial will follow at the Berry Cemetery, Louisa, Ky..

Visitation will be Tuesday, October 18, 2016  5:00 until 9:00 pm at Young Funeral Home Chapel.
