US 23 WRECK HAS ONE MAN FLOWN OUT TO HUNTINGTON MED CENTER

 Clarence Stapleton, Jr , 38 of Louisa was operating a 1999 Toyota SUV Northbound on US Highway 23 when he lost control. Stapleton over corrected and in doing so, caused the vehicle to over turn coming to rest upside down

LOUISA, KY. — After a rash of accidents in the last couple of days, at approximately noon on November 5th, 2017 the Lawrence County 911 Center received a call of a motor vehicle accident on US Highway 23 around Highway 2565.

Upon arrival it was determined that Clarence Stapleton, Jr, 38, of Louisa who was operating a 1999 Toyota SUV Northbound on US Highway 23 when he lost control. Stapleton over corrected and in doing so, caused the vehicle to overturn coming to rest upside down.

Mr. Stapleton was flown to Cabell Huntington Hospital and his passenger Shawna Ward, 34 of Louisa was transported to TRMC. The accident is under investigation by the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office and Chief Deputy Mark Wheeler is the investigating officer.

There has been no word on the condition of either of the accident victime.

Assisting at the scene was Louisa Vol. Fire Department, Netcare Ambulance, State Highway Department and Healthnet Aeromedical.
