TWO MORE LAWRENCE COUNTY RESIDENTS BUSTED FOR DRUGS BEYOND THE BORDERLINE IN DIFFERENT CASES

LOUISA WOMAN CAUGHT IN FLOYD COUNTY PARK; BLAINE WOMAN ARRESTED AFTER JOHNSON COUNTY TRAFFIC STOP

Two more Lawrence County female ‘citizens’ have been arrested in a drug busts and possessions in nearby counties,

One woman was caught up with two other individuals in a city park in Floyd County, while in a separate case, the other woman was taken into custody after a traffic stop in Johnson County.

In the first drug case, Traci L. Hall, 29, of Louisa, Kentucky, along with Eric Hall, 29, of Wayland, Kentucky and Joshua Vanhoose, 32, of River, Kentucky,were charged with first degree possession of a controlled substance Thursday morning.  

According to the Prestonsburg Police Department, Officer William Holbrook went to a car parked by itself in Archer Park and questioned the people inside.  (Holbrook is the son of Paintsville police chief Bill Holbrook).

Conflicting stories and suspicious activity led him to a search of the vehicle. During the search, police found two yellow baggies containing thick brown liquid, one yellow bag with white powder residue, several hypodermic needles, spoons, a set digital scale and a large amount of small plastic bags.

All three individuals were lodged in the Floyd County Detention Center. More charges are possible that could be filed in the case.

Tiddany M. HopsonIn the second case, a Blaine woman was arrested after she was pulled over and stopped by a deputy for a traffic citation in Johnson County Thursday afternoon.

The woman, Tiffany M. Hopson, 29, of Blaine, Kentucky; was arrested at 5:35 P.M. by deputy Byron Fairchild of the Johnson County Sheeriff department on the charges of: • OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE UNDER/INFLUENCE ALCOHOL/DRUGS/ETC. .08 – 1ST OFFENSE, • OPERATING ON SUSPENDED OR REVOKED OPERATOR LICENSE • RECKLESS DRIVING, • FAILURE TO WEAR SEAT BELTS, • PRESCRIPTION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE NOT PROPER CONTAINER 1ST OFFENSE,  • TRAFFICKING IN CONTROLLE SUBSTANCE, 1ST DEGREE 1ST OFFENSE – (> OR = 10 D.U. DRD).

Hopson remains lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville.

LOUISA MAN TRANSFERRED TO CARTER COUNTY

Phillip L. MarcumA Louisa is out on bond after he was transferred from the Big Sandy Detention Center in Paintsville, over to the Carter County Detention Center in Grayson, Kentucky.

Phillip L. Marcum, 37, of Louisa, was taken on May 17, 2016, at 3:42 P.M. to Carter County Detention Center after he was arrested on May 13 at 8:06 A.M., by patrolman officer Steven Wilburn of the Louisa Police Department, and was charged with: • SERVING BENCH WARRANT FOR COURT out of Carter County, along with a separate  charge in Louisa for THEFT BY UNLAWFUL TAKING OR DISPOSITION SHOPLIFTING UNDER/$500.

Marcum posted $100 bond at the Carter County Detention Center and has since been released.
