REPORTEDLY OTHER CONSPIRING UNNAMED CO-DEFENDANT(S) ALSO INDICTED IN THE SAME CASE

JULY 3, 2024 – written by WADE QUEEN

TWO KENTUCKY GAL PALS SMACKED BY UNCLE SAM ON MAJOR DRUG TRAFFICKING INDICTMENT: MINNIE LOUISE JOHNSON, ((PHOTO bottom), 60, AND JENNIFER RENEE FLETCHER, (PHOTO top),  44, BOTH OF SALYERSVILLE, KY., WERE BOTH GIVEN FEDERAL INDICTMENTS ON THE SAME DRUG TRAFFICKING CASE OF METH &  FENTANYL IN LATE JUNE.

Two Magoffin County, Kentucky women have been named in a federal drug indictment handed down at the end of June by a federal grand jury in Pikeville, KY.

Minnie Louise Johnson, 60, and Jennifer Renee Fletcher, 44, both from Salyersville, KY., are the only two defendants who have been publicly identified in the fed drug case. The identities of one or more additional defendants remain under seal, indicating they are not yet in custody.

Jennifer Fletcher and Minnie Johnson were both taken into custody by U.S. Marshals and were transported to and lodged in the Pike County Detention Center in Pikeville.

Jennifer Fletcher and Minnie Johnson are each charged with conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute more than 500 grams of Methamphetamine and more than 40 grams of Fentanyl. Jennifer Fletcher is also charged with one count of distributing controlled substances, while Minnie Johnson is charged with two counts on the same charge.

There drug indictments came about after arrests made by local enforcement, with Minnie Johnson arrested on meth, possession of a handgun and a separate firearm by a convicted felon, and other charges on February 28, 2022, by the Magoffin County Sheriff Office; while Jennifer Fletcher was arrested twice on separate Fentanyl charges, one on August 1, 2022, by the Paintsville Police Department, and the other arrest on August 16, 2022, by the Johnson County Sheriff Office.

Both Jenniffer Fletcher and Minnie Johnson have significant criminal pasts, with both women being convicted felons; as before their federal indictment, Minnie Johnson has been arrested in Kentucky thirteen (13) times on twenty-seven (27) felonies and misdemeanors since November 2001; while Jennifer Fletcher has been arrested  fourteen (14) times on twenty-nine (29) times since May 2007.

Due to the large amount of drugs involved, the two women face a minimum of 10 years in federal prison and up to a maximum of life — if convicted in a criminal trial.
