Few surprises were in store in what Wrendi McDavid called an “electric election” during the rundown she has supplied for voters as in recent years. You can see it by clicking on her Facebook page.

Ex-President Donald Trump defeated Democrat Kamala Harris 5,464 to 1,044 in Lawrence County and was declared the winner in Kentucky shortly after polls closed.

The other Constitutional officers were unopposed and won easily with a comparative vote to Trump.

A veteran election officer said the turnout was almost three times the usual in the city of Louisa.

In other races of interest legislative amendments split as Amendment 1, which deals with immigration won in Lawrence County but the other new law failed to pass. Amendment 2 which would have allowed public tax monies to sponsor private schools, was soundly defeated in Lawrence County and around the state.

City County members elected were Kayla Brown, Rose Lester, Caleb Farley, Joey McClannahan, Coty Roe and Keith Chafins.

I think the 1,044 should wear a kovvid mask at all times. So, We The People, can identify them.

It is wonderful to see this level of civic engagement in Lawrence County regarding this election.

The overwhelming majority for Trump is sobering for non-republicans, but the community’s fervor regarding local issues, like Amendment 2, demonstrates a shared desire to effect change in our community.

Perhaps we could use fewer national politicking arguments and engage more productively about how those decisions have local implications—and/or would—for example, educational funding and/or local programs.

Healthy discussion really does help our community, even when we can’t agree on all issues.

What a great day for America! The darkness of the last few years is brightening up. The stock market has hit an all time high just on the news of Trump being reelected. 🙌☀️😃

The stock market has been doing extremely well over the last few years… It’s not because of the election.

My 401k has skyrocketed the last 4 years under the current administration.

Amendment 1 had nothing to do with abortion but with voters being required to be citizens of the United States.

I thought Amendment 1 had to do with not letting illegal immigrants vote…. Not anything to do with abortion. Did I read that wrong?.

Yes, you are correct. Mistake made because of haste, sorry about that.

Biden and Kamala are gone but you men can still pretend that you are a woman and wear bra and panties.

After Trump kicked Kamalas butt Tuesday many of OUR major universities shut down for the day for mourning. These young liberal students had to have their milk and cookies and were allowed to play with legos. What a bunch of snowflakes. These are the whinebags that could be running our corporations, teachers, military, etc. Democrats should be embarrassed. Are these college students 12 or 22 years old. Please change their democrat diapers. Im LMAO !!!!!
