Traffic Advisory: Daytime Closure and One-Lane Traffic for Bridge Drilling in Lawrence County

KY 644 Walbridge August 15-16

LAWRENCE COUNTY (Aug. 8, 2022) The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet advises motorists of a daytime closure followed by one-lane traffic along KY 644 in Lawrence County for bridge drilling. The bridge is located in the Walbridge area at mile point 1.5 (1.5 miles East of KY 2565 and 0.2 miles Northwest of KY 1690).

Crews will perform drilling operations on the bridge starting Aug. 15 with a daytime closure from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The following day Aug. 16, crews will close the right lane between the hours of 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. to complete the drilling operations. These traffic impacts are necessary due to the amount and size of equipment needed for the operations. 

Emergency Vehicles will be accommodated; however, all other motorists will need to use an alternate route during this time. Please watch for signage and slow down when encountering a work zone.

Stantec has been contracted to perform the work. Schedules are subject to change based on weather conditions.
