TOLSIA AND TUG VALLEY BOYS AND GIRLS SPLIT ON PANTHER’S SENIOR NIGHT

Naugatuck, W. Va. —  The Tolsia Lady Rebels ( 7-15 ) turned it on in the second half to beat Tug Valley 55-30 for the second time in less then a week on Senior night for the Lady Panthers Tuesday.

Tolsia led 20-15 at halftime and came out of the break on fire to out score Tug Valley 23-2 in the third quarter to break open the game.

Sarah Jude led the Lady Rebels with 21 points and 4 rebounds, Mariah Finley tallied 14 points and 7 assists, Elizabeth Asbury finished with 8 points, Kayla Jude 7 points and 4 rebounds, Julie Boone 2 points and 4 rebounds, Marlee Marcum 2 points, Taylor Ball, Kenzie Young and Kylea Pollinger 1 point each.

The Lady Rebels closed out the regular season with very nice victory over #8 Logan ( 15-7 ) on the road Wednesday night.

Sarah Jude poured in 19 points and 5 rebounds, Mariah Finley tallied 13 points and 3 assists, Julie Boone had 6 points and a game high 12 rebounds, Marlee Marcum and Selena Browning had 3 points and 5 rebounds each, Kayla Jude 1 point and 5 rebounds.

The Lady Rebels will host the Lady Panthers on Monday night at 7:00 in the First Round of the Region 4 Section 2 tournament. Winner of that game will travel to #1 in Class A Huntington St. Joe on Wednesday.

Jared Switzer looking to penetrate vs Cross Lanes Christian at WVSUThe Panthers honored eight seniors and made quick work of the younger and inexperienced Rebels on Tuesday night.

Tolsia was led by Jonathon Johnson with 11 points, Jared Switzer 9 points, Jacob Mollette 6 points, Rob Cantrell 5 points, William Spaulding 3 points, Austin Salmons 2 points.

Cross Lanes Christian 66 Tolsia 50 ( Boys )

Last Thursday the Rebels traveled to West Virginia St. University and fell to the Warriors.

Tolsia was led by Jacob Mollette with 13 points, Jared Switzer chipped in with 10 points, Rob Cantrell 9 points, Tyler Johnson and Austin Salmons 8 points each, Blake Sturgell 2 points.

Tolsia will be at Home twice to end the regular season. Saturday at 6:00 vs Rose Hill and next Tuesday for Senior night vs Huntington St. Joe before postseason begins.

COACH’S COMMENTS

“… I thought we did a good job coming out after halftime with some inside presence with Kayla Jude which we needed, and then that opened up the outside shot for Finley, Sarah Jude and Asbury to knock down some three pointers.”

“… After we found out we were playing Tug in the first round we really didn’t change much, just tried to play our game.”
