Flag Day

Flag Day is Monday, June 14, 2021

In the United States, Flag Day is celebrated on June 14. It commemorates the adoption of the flag of the United States on June 14, 1777, by resolution of the Second Continental Congress.^[1] The Flag Resolution, passed on June 14, 1777, stated: “Resolved, That the flag of the thirteen United States be thirteen stripes, alternate red and white; that the union be thirteen stars, white in a blue field, representing a new constellation.”

The United States Army also celebrates the U.S. Army birthday on this date; Congress adopted “the American continental army” after reaching a consensus position in the Committee of the Whole on June 14, 1775.

In times like these it is important than many have died fighting for this great American flag.  While other countries spit at it and burn it, we should honor it as the preserving image of America and its many trials and tribulations.  I have heard recently groups criticizing the American flag.  We in Mississippi actually recently changed our state flag against better judgement.  The new flag is nice, but the old flag was and is now history.

The American flag represents us, it has honored those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for their country.  It is red, white and blue and it should forever stand as the only American flag.

God bless America, God bless our Army, Air Force, Navy, Coast Guard, the men and women in blue and other front line workers who help make our lives American.
