A fire late Thursday night heavily damaged a well-known business in Louisa, according to Lawrence County emergency officials.

They said it happened at New World Video and Tanning along state Route 2565, starting just before 10:00 P.M.

There were no reports of anyone who was hurt during blaze, and the cause of the fire is unknown at this time, according to emergency officials.

New World Video and Tanning has been operating at that spot since it opened well over 30 years ago

This is tragic. Eddie and Patty Blankenship ran a friendly, happy business with their customers and employees always being treated with kindness and respect. They are hometown business owners who are civic minded and just all around good people. I look forward to the business being rebuilt and the continuance of great service. Thank you Patty and Eddie!

    Preach 🙌🙌🙌
The instant I heard this, I checked their FB page and it said that they were, “set to open with new tanning equipment and bulbs, etc”, the following day.
    Sure….
This needs to be investigated for insurance fraud, I could almost guarantee that he increased his insurance policy when all of this covid-19 stuff started for this very reason.

Very fishy. Hope they investigate to find out the truth.

The truth will always come out! As crooked as people are, who knows!
