RCBI HONORS MACHINING, WELDING STUDENTS

 “The skills these students learned at RCBI are in great demand by industry today,” said Charlotte Weber, Director & CEO of RCBI. “We’re pleased that RCBI is helping close the skills gap in manufacturing through our career skills programs.”

HUNTINGTON — High-skilled jobs in industry await graduates of the Machinist Technology/CNC Program and the Welding Technology Program at the Robert C. Byrd Institute (RCBI).

RCBI will recognize more than 40 individuals at a ceremony Thursday at RCBI Huntington, 1050 Fourth Ave. The event begins at 4 p.m.

“The skills these students learned at RCBI are in great demand by industry today,” said Charlotte Weber, Director & CEO of RCBI. “We’re pleased that RCBI is helping close the skills gap in manufacturing through our career skills programs.”

RCBI’s machining and welding programs deliver rigorous, hands-on instruction that prepares individuals for immediate employment and lifelong professional advancement. Students also earn individual industry-recognized certifications that ensure each RCBI graduate achieves nationally recognized standards of excellence.
Offered in partnership with Mountwest Community & Technical College, the programs also present students the opportunity to earn an associate degree.

Machinist graduates who have earned either a one-year certificate or a two-year associate degree are:

Austin Blake, Quincy Cannon, Charles Hankins, Patrick Means, Kevin Gross, Jeffrey King and Michael Yeagy, all of Huntington; Andrew Harding, St. Albans; Lindsay Maynard, Wayne; Matthew Cornell, Apple Grove; Roger Craft, Nitro; James Hall, Barboursville; John Harris, Beckley; Archie Hollingsworth, Ceredo; Andrew Passerby, Kingwood; Andrew Sowards, Salt Rock; and Dylan Sturgeon, Hurricane.

Welding graduates who have earned either a one-year certificate or a two-year associate degree are Tyler Knight, Michael Trumbo, Isaac Hodges, Christopher White, Jonathan Miller, Gage Messick, Garry Adaway, William Fannin, and David Hay, all of Huntington; Matthew Henderson, Kyle Cassady and Dennis Jackson, all of Wayne; Cory McDonie and Dylan Tierney, both of Ona; Sara Simms, Fort Gay; Marissa Boyd, Louisa, Ky.; Dustin Stacy, Prichard; Cameron Burden, Culloden; Antony Mitchell, Barboursville; Luke Cummings, Ravenswood; Trenton Engle, Lesage; Tayte Damron, Kenova; and Kyle Sowards, Salt Rock.
