Sheriff Rick Thompson stated that the Wayne County Sheriff Drug Enforcement Unit arrested a couple from Tennessee and a man from KY last night after members of the Wayne County Sheriff Drug Enforcement Unit located nearly 900 doses of mostly Crystal Methamphetamine and Cocaine, handgun, and various pills.
Sheriff Thompson stated that during the stop Gary ‘Bo’ Varney, of Canada KY, was hiding a loaded handgun and large baggie of Crystal Methamphetamine behind the rear seat in the car. The baggie of Crystal Methamphetamine weighed approximately 85.5 grams.
Sheriff Thompson stated that Varney is charged with Conspiracy to Distribute 50 grams or more – Methamphetamine, Possession with Intent to Deliver X 2, and Pseudoephedrine Altered.
Judy Pucket and Steven Puckett, both of Sweetwater TN, are each charged with Conspiracy to Distribute 50 grams or more – Methamphetamine.
Road Patrol Deputies and Fort Gay Police Dept assisted.
