Sheriff Rick Thompson stated that three suspects were arrested during separate investigations.
Sheriff Thompson stated that during a traffic stop Wayne Fowler (bottom) attempted to bribe a Deputy in the Wayne County Sheriff Drug Enforcement Unit with money to let him go during a traffic stop in the Fort Gay area. Fowler is charged with Felony Bribery, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Domestic Battery from an unrelated incident.
The Wayne County Sheriff Drug Enforcement stopped Steven Smith (top right) in the Westmoreland. During the stop Deputies seized a large quantity of Marijuana and Methamphetamine from Steven’s backpack. The Drug Enforcement Unit received information that Steven was distributing drugs in the Spring Valley area. Smith is charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine and Possession with Intent to Deliver Marijuana.
