STABBING AT JOHNSON CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL SENDS ONE TO THE HOSPITAL

PAINTSVILLE, KY. — According to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department, a student from Johnson County Kentucky has been detained after allegedly stabbing another student at school.

Johnson Central High School is a public secondary school located at 257 North Mayo Trail on the northwest side of Paintsville, Kentucky, United States. The school serves as the Johnson County School District's consolidated high school.

 

The stabbing happened at Johnson Central High School in Paintsville Kentucky. Johnson County Sheriff Dwayne Price released a statement that one student has been detained and the weapon that was used has been recovered.

Both students are juveniles.

The victim of the stabbing was taken to Paul B. Hall Medical Center and according to Sheriff Price, was alert while being transported to the medical facility.

The sheriff also says there are no current threats to any of the students at the school. We will continue to follow this case an update when information becomes available.

The incident reportedly took place as the school was preparing to conduct a Veteran’s Day program in the gymnasium.
