Gibson Jordan PIKEVILLE, KY – (January 13, 2017) The Southeast Kentucky Chamber of Commerce (SEKC) is pleased to announce that Jordan Gibson has been selected as the Chamber’s new President & CEO. On January 12, 2017, the Chamber’s Board of Directors was notified of the new appointment. Gibson will officially begin on February 8, 2017.

“After reviewing the resumes and credentials from a large pool of applicants and conducting interviews, the search committee unanimously agreed that Jordan Gibson is the right person to lead the Chamber,” said Search Committee Chairman Howard Roberts. “Jordan’s skills, coupled with his professional experience, make him the right person to help execute the strategic priorities of the Chamber. We are excited to see him come on board.”

Gibson is a native of Pikeville, Ky. Prior to his Chamber appointment, Gibson was the Director of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving at Florida State College at Jacksonville Foundation where he managed programming services and events for over 130,000 alumni. Gibson was formerly the Director of Alumni Relations at the University of Pikeville (UPIKE) and a 2008 graduate of the university with degrees in business administration and comparative religion. He also holds an MBA from UPIKE’s Coleman College of Business.

“My experience working with alumni, donors and community partners has been excellent preparation for building the lasting relationships necessary to continue moving the Southeast Kentucky Chamber of Commerce forward. I can’t tell you how excited I am for this opportunity to return home to Eastern Kentucky and be so closely involved with our business communities,” Gibson said. “There are some amazing people and organizations throughout the region that are working hard to create new opportunities for our workforce as well as their respective communities. The Chamber plays a key role in that development process. I can’t wait to get started.”

Chairman of the Chamber’s Board, Rick Newsom, said, “The board and I would like to congratulate Jordan in his new role as President & CEO.” He added, “Jordan is an accomplished professional with a deep understanding of our region and a passion to see it grow. We are excited to welcome him home.”

Southeast Kentucky Chamber of Commerce (SEKC) is committed to improving the local economy, regional unity, political advocacy, and economic development; ultimately, improving the quality of life for citizens of the entire region. With over 500 member businesses that employ 20,000+ employees in 8 counties, SEKC provides a support network for businesses in Southeast Kentucky.
