Big things happening for Lawrence County

LOUISA, Ky. — Lawrence County Fiscal Court met for their monthly meeting, December 15th, via Zoom.

There are a lot of good things that will be happening in the future for Lawrence County according to the news coming out of Tuesday morning’s meeting.

Lawrence County Judge Executive Phillip Carter and the Lawrence County Fiscal Court announced, along with the partnership of Mayor Harold Slone and the City of Louisa, and Lawrence County Tourism a Flex-E Grant from The Center for Rural Development for a Strategic Economic Development Plan which will help Lawrence County, Louisa, and Tourism effectively create a plan that will help grow the future of our county and city with new business, jobs and bringing more people to our area for tourism related activities.

No amount was given.

Good news for courthouse workers

Also, Lawrence County Judge Executive Phillip Carter and the Lawrence County Fiscal Court announce the reimbursement of $338,975.00 of Cares Act money provided through the Governor’s office. This reimbursement will help offset the decline in revenue related to Covid19 Lawrence County has experienced throughout this past year. We respectfully thank Governor Andy Beshear, DLG Commissioner Dennis Keene, Billie R. Johnson and Gabe Nickell for their help with this process.

911 Center to get new equipment

Lawrence County Judge Executive Phillip Carter and the Lawrence County Fiscal Court announce a grant award from the Kentucky 911 Services Board for new Radio Consoles at the 911 Call Center. This equipment is much needed to modernize the 911 Call Center in order to best serve the citizens of Lawrence County. The Lawrence County Fiscal Court wishes to thank Christie Ross, Mike Sunseri, Mark Gaus and Jason Childers as well as State Senator Phillip Wheeler and State Representative Kathy Hinkle for their support.

Uh, I’m pretty sure the CARES Act money came from Trump and the little governors just hand it out.

I am pretty sure if the Great Governor of KY didn’t want Lawrence County to get any of the money he could of sent it somewhere else
If you would of took a little time to read it it says “Cares Act money provided through the Governor’s office”

  2. Charles says:

How in the name of God could anyone in their right mind think Andy Beshear had anything to do with this? Only an idiot could find that in this article? Wait…an idiot did!

  3. KAG says:

Charley “Cares Act money provided through the Governor’s office”
Our Great Governor Andy decides where the money goes
I am waiting for a apology
