 Recrd improves to 6-1-1

LC Freshman Sarah Lycans scored two goals on Tuesday night in a victory over Huntington HIGH.

Huntington, W. Va. —  Lawrence Co. Soccer prides itself on playing defense and the last two games couldn’t get much better as the Dawgs shut out Boyd Co. at Home and on Tuesday night kept West Virginia soccer power Huntington scoreless. The SoccerDawgs improved to 6-1-1 on the season.

Last Thursday night Lawrence Co. beat Boyd Co. 7-0 behind three goals from Zayla Granillo who leads the team in that category this season.

Ally Moore was in goal for the shutout.

Lawrence Co. traveled to Huntington on Tuesday night for a showdown with Class AAA Huntington High and came away with a 4-0 triumph. Sarah Lycans scored twice, Zayla Granillo and Kylie Maynard also put one in the net for the Dawgs.

Ally Moore was once again in goal for the victors.

Lawrence Co. will be back in action tonight at home vs Ashland ( 7-2 ) at 6:30. The Boys middle school soccer team will play right before the girls at 5:00 vs Ashland

Lawrence Co. Soccer coach Kyle Snaitecki

COACH’S COMMENTS

“… Thought we did well based on circumstances. Had a late bus, field isn’t the best with the style we play but we went out and played and got the result we wanted and needed.”

” Played better the 2nd half and started to keep more possession. Created a bunch of opportunities and probably should have finished more, but we will save those for Ashland.”

” Nice to get another shutout as well. Looking forward to Ashland and feel good with the direction we are going. Proud of the girls.”
