“… High school has for sure flown by. I remember freshman year looking at the seniors saying this is me in 3 years. Sophomore year this is me in 2 years and junior year this is me next year.” Tonight was my night. It was bittersweet because I’ve waited so long to walk down the field and get my roses and goodie bag, I was just thinking how I want to go back and do it all over again.” One thing I’d say to my fellow teammates is that it does fly by whether you want it to or not. Take every chance you get to do your best because once it’s over it’s over and there’s no going back.” I want to thank my former coaches for making me the soccer player I am today, my parents for supporting every decision I have made, and my Aunt Bendy for always being there for every game and especially those Saturday tournaments when my parents had to work. I could always count on her to take me.”

Lawrence Co. Senior Raegan Crum

“… Everyone changes so much in high school, and you really notice it when you play a sport. As a sophomore, I was a weak player that, I believe, had little impact on the game. In just one year of playing varsity high school soccer, though, I had become more confident, skilled, and fit. My junior year I was determined to have an impact. I became captain of the soccer team. I still felt a little uncomfortable about being a captain, since I was a junior. In contrast to my junior year, I had fully developed and demanded my role as captain during my senior year. Of all the changes that I experienced within myself, the thing that didn’t change was the relationship I had among my soccer community. Your teammates are always going to be there for you. They are people that will affect your life continuously.” I am thankful for the soccer community I have been accepted into. I am also thankful for all the coaches I’ve had for establishing this prospering community.”

Lawrence Co. Senior Andrea Salyers

“… High school has for sure flown by, freshman year getting to play and making it all the way to the elite 8 felt great but I was just thinking how I only have three more years of this.” I had to sit out my sophomore and junior season due to some injuries. All I wanted to do was play my senior year. Now that it is finally here I don’t want it to end. I feel like I’ve have gave it all my senior year and now that tournament time is just around the corner I’m ready to lock down and make an appearance at the elite 8 one more time before my career ends.” I would first like to thank my family and friends that have always been here for me through my career. I would also like to thank all the coaches I have had for making me the player I am today.”
