Inez, Ky. — Blake Maynard scored eight goals and Lawrence Co. ( 11-4-1 ) made quick work of Paintsville 10-0 in the semifinals of the 15th Region Boys tournament Wednesday at Martin Co.

The SoccerDawgs advance to 15th Region championship game tonight at 8:30 versus Johnson Central ( 13-7-1 ) after the Golden Eagles beat Prestonsburg 4-2 in the other semifinal Wednesday.

Lawrence Co. Head Coach Scott Johnson

COACH’S COMMENTS

“…It was an interesting game.  Paintsville packed the box and we had to get a little creative to find the net.  Our team found ways to slip the ball into Blake on the run and he scored 8 of the 10 for us.”

“… Johnson Central will be ready for us tonight and we will have to continue getting creative with the ball and moving it around.“
