SLOWDOWN IN ARRESTS IN AREA IS A MYSTERY; SIX OF SEVEN THIS WEEK ARE WOMEN

ARRESTS AT 45% OF NORMAL WEEKLY AVERAGE IN THE LEVISA AREA;

LOCAL COURTS  HAVE BEEN CANCELLING SESSIONS TO RESCHEDULE AND CONSOLIDATE DUE TO LOW NUMBERS OF CASES ON THE DOCKETS IN LAST FEW WEEKS

 

JAIL ARRESTS IN THE PAST EIGHT DAYS HAVE PLUNGED BIG TIME IN LAWRENCE COUNTY AND THE NEIGHBORING COUNTIES THAT USE THE BIG SANDY REGIONAL DETENTION CENTER. THE NUMBER OF ARRESTS IN THE AREA HAVE BEEN ABOUT 40% OF AVERAGE IN THE PAST WEEK WHEN COMPARED TO THE PREVIOUS WEEKS DURING THE PAST FEW MONTHS THROUGH THE SUMMER. ON AVERAGE OVER OVER THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS, THERE BETWEEN 90 TO 120 ARREST SUSPECTS BROUGHT TO THE BSRDC PER SEVEN DAY WEEK (USUALLY BETWEEN 12 TO 18 INDIVIDUALS A DAY), WITH AROUND 10 TO 15 ARRESTS BEING FROM LAWRENCE COUNTY IN THE SAME SEVEN DAY AVERAGE,

From 12:01 A.M., September 22, 2016 to 11:59 P.M., September 29, 2016; 73 arrested individuals were brought into the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville, Kentucky.

Out of the 73 arrested individuals brought to the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in this last 8 day period of September 22-29, 7 arrests were from Lawrence County. (There have been a total of 43 arrests so far this month in Lawrence County).

The number of people booked each day from September 22 thru September 29 at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville was as the following: THURSDAY-SEPTEMBER 22: 10, FRIDAY-SEPTEMBER 23: 11, SATURDAY-SEPTEMBER 24: THREE, SUNDAY-SEPTEMBER 25: FOUR, MONDAY-SEPTEMBER 26: 11, TUESDAY-SEPTEMBER 27: 12, WEDNESDAY-SEPTEMBER 28: 10, THURSDAY-SEPTEMBER 29: 12.

LAWRENCE COUNTY ARREST LIST – SEPTEMBER 22-29, 2016

Those seven individuals arrested in Lawrence County in the past eight days are the following:

Alexis J. BoydAlexis J. Boyd, 22, of Louisa, was arrested on September 23, 2016, at 1:53 P.M., by deputy Charlie Curnutte, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • SERVING TWO BENCH WARRANTS FOR COURT.

 


Robert L. AckermanRobert L. Ackerman, 54, of Fort Gay, West Virginia, was arrested on September 24, 2016, at 1:00 A.M., by deputy Mason Keefer, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • SERVING WARRANT (FOR OTHER POLICE AGENCY).

 

Gloria AckermanGloria Ackerman, 51, of Fort Gay, West Virginia, was arrested on September 24, 2016, at 1:17 A.M., by patrolman officer Julius Musick, of the Louisa Police Department, and was charged with: • OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE UNDER/INFLUENCE ALCOHOL/DRUGS/ETC. .08 – 1ST OFFENSE, • CARRYING A CONCEALED WEAPON, • POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE 1ST OFFENSE (OPIATES), • PRESCRIPTION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE NOT PROPER CONTAINER 1ST OFFENSE, • DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – BUY/POSSESS.

 


Ava BlevinsAva Blevins, 30, of Louisa, was arrested on September 26, 2016, at 6:04 P.M., by Sergeant Ed Cordle, of the Louisa Police Department, and was charged with: • SERVING BENCH WARRANT FOR COURT.

 

Candy N. MayCandy N. May, 20, of Louisa, was arrested on September 28, 2016, at 11:28 A.M., by deputy Karl Adkins, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • SERVING BENCH WARRANT FOR COURT.

 


Brenda S. FrazierBrenda S. Frazier, 43, of Louisa, was arrested on September 29, 2016, at 8:34 P.M., by patrolman officer Hunter James, of the Louisa Police Department, and was charged with: • OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE UNDER/INFLUENCE ALCOHOL/DRUGS /ETC. .08 – 2ND OFFENSE, • NO OPERATORS-MOPED LICENSE, • NO REGISTRATION PLATES, • FAILURE OF NON-OWNER OPERATOR TO MAINTAIN REQUIRED INSURANCE/SECURITY, 1ST OFFENSE.


 

Kelly Adkins FrazierKelly Adkins Frazier, 24, of Louisa, was arrested on September 29, 2016, at 8:34 P.M., by patrolman officer Steven Wilburn, of the Louisa Police Department, and was charged with: • SERVING BENCH WARRANT FOR COURT.
