A ceremony for allied health (nursing, respiratory therapy and dental hygiene) graduates will be held at 7 p.m., Friday, May 5. Ceremonies for all other graduates will occur at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., respectively, at the MAC.

“This is an exciting time of year for our institution,” said Jimmy Wright, dean of student services at BSCTC. This year’s graduates will earn 750 credentials. “This day is a culmination of hard work and a time of reflection and celebration for our students and those who have helped them get to this day.”

Tony Skeans will be the keynote speaker. He began his career as a prosecutor in 1999 when he accepted a position as Assistant Commonwealth Attorney for the 24th Circuit. He has served as Special Assistant United States Attorney, Eastern District of Kentucky, from 2007-2010 working in public corruption prosecution. He is an active member of the Paintsville Rotary Club, serving as president in 2012, and as Assistant District Governor of Martin, Floyd, Johnson, Magoffin and Morgan Counties from 2013 through 2016. He has received recognition from his club as a Paul Harris Fellow, and is a member of the Paul Harris Society.
