SITKA, Ky. — Johnson County sheriff’s office responded to a call on Monday, June 29, in the Puncheon Creek area of Sitka regarding a male subject who had been shot, allegedly by his

Joshua Caudill

girlfriend’s son.

Sheriff Doug Saylor stated that James Jason McKenzie was shot in through the left arm and into the left side of his body by Joshua Caudill.  Caudill, 27, of Honey Lane in Stambaugh then fled the scene in a stolen vehicle.

According to Sheriff Saylor the vehicle used to escape belonged to Caudill’s sister and was located at the Johnson/Lawrence County line on Monday, but Caudill remains at large.  He is still considered to be armed and dangerous with at least one handgun maybe even two.

Johnson County Sheriff Deputy Jeff Castle said “If anybody does see him, what they need to know is to stay away from him, just call us.” If anyone sees Joshua Caudill please call 911, Johnson County Sherriff’s office or KSP.

There was no word on the condition of McKenzie in the sheriff’s report.
