Louisa, Ky. — In a thrilling five set match on Monday night the VolleyDawgs came up just short against a much improved team from Sheldon Clark ( 16-10 ) in a very entertaining game that had the fans from both teams on the edge of their seats.

The VolleyCards won the first set 25-16, Lawrence Co. came back to tie it up with a 26-24 win in set two, Sheldon Clark won set three 25-23, Lawrence Co.. forced Lexie Workman and Aryana Chapman received plaques before the game Monday night.a deciding set five match with a 25-18 set four win, in the final set of the match Sheldon Clark wrapped up the win with a 15-5 victory in set five.

Before the game Lawrence Co. Junior captains Aryana Chapman and Lexie Workman were honored. Chapman for most hits in a game and Workman for most assist in a game. Both girls also made the all tournament team in the Lady Lions invitational recently held at Boyd Co.

Lawrence Co ( 4-20 ) will finish out the regular season with two home games this week, first with Morgan Co. tonight and West Carter on Thursday night for Senior night. Both games slated for 7:00.

COACH’S COMMENTS

“… It was a hard fought match and a tough loss. Several key players out with injuries but last night was still very successful with Lexi Workman with 30 assists and Aryana Chapman with 25 kills. Aryana is at 990 career kills and hoping to meet 1,000 kills I’m tonight’s game vs Morgan Co.”
