SHELDON CLARK BLASTS BULLDOGS ON SENIOR NIGHT

WARFIELD, Ky. —  Sheldon Clark ( 18-11 ) celebrated six seniors on Tuesday night in grand fashion with a 80-42 thumping of Lawrence Co. ( 18-11 ) in front of a very nice crowd at Martin Co. Middle school.

The Cardinals placed four players in double figures and two more that just missed going over the ten point mark, plus SC held the nations leading Two of the best players in the 15th Region Tim Dalton and Dylan James chatting each other up during a break in the action. scorer Tim Dalton well below his average with a stingy defense that was effective from start to finish.

Sheldon Clark led 21-9 after the first period and continued to pour it in throughout the game. The Cards would lead by 21 at halftime and cruised in the second half as they looked like a 15th Region contender going into postseason play next week.

For Lawrence Co. who played without senior starter Cameron Maynard and injured Alex Ratliff have struggled the last two games against stronger and more experienced seniors. The Dawgs couldn’t get much going all game and really struggled in the third quarter when they only scored three points.

Dalton scored a team high 20 points, Jared Wellman tallied 15 points, Tyler Maynard 3 points, Trey Dotson and Westin Hardin 2 points each. LC went 9-16 from the line and hit 2 three pointers.

Lawrence Co. transfer Senior Shawn Moore led a balanced Cardinal attack with 24 points, Senior David Cantrell had 17 points, Senior Bradley Dalton tallied 13 points, Senior Dylan James chipped in with 11 points, Senior Heath Maynard had 9 points, Senior Ethan Osborne had 8 points, Brady Dingess had 2 points. The Cards went 11-13 from the stripe and hit 4 three pointers.

Sheldon Clark 21 23 21 15 – 80

Lawrence Co. will finish up regular season play tonight at home vs East Ridge. Sheldon Clark will finish up regular season play  Thursday night at home vs Shelby Valley.
