LETCHER COUNTY, KENTUCKY MAN ARRESTED BY STATE POLICE AFTER BABY BROUGHT TO HOSPITAL SHOWED SEVERE INJURIES CONSISTENT WITH ‘EXTREME’ SHAKING
THE SEVEN MONTH OLD INFANT WAS CHILD OF SUSPECT’S GIRLFRIEND
A Letcher County, KY. man was placed in jail, after a 7-month-old baby was brought into an emergency room with symptoms consistent with shaken baby syndrome.
Kentucky State Police were called to Whitesburg Appalachian-Regional-Hospital on Sunday, December 10, after staff determined the infant had symptoms of a brain bleed.
The child’s mother had left the baby with her boyfriend, Cody Tucker, 30, of Whitesburg, KY., while she took her three other children to a birthday party.
Cody Tucker told state police that the baby had been sick and he had laid him down in a bassinet, but found him unresponsive when he went to check on him sometime later. Cody Tucker further told state police he shook the baby and patted its back to try to get the child to respond.
Preliminary medical results released on Wednesday, December 13. reportedly showed the baby to have bleeding between the skull and brain on the left, right and rear of the head; bleeding in the back of both eyes; bruising to the chest wall and heart; and decreased left side movement due to brain injury. The police report notes the injuries are all consistent with “extreme force and shaking of a baby.”
Cody Tucker was arrested by the KSP the same day December 13, and was charged with:
- ASSAULT, 1ST DEGREE, a Class B felony punishable by 10-to-20 years in state prison. He was charged with
- PROBATION VIOLATION (FOR FELONY OFFENSE).
Cody Tucker is being held in the Letcher County Jail on a $1 million full cash bond.

Mothers please be careful who you leave watching your children. I hope he gets a taste of what abuse is first hand where he’s going. I hope the child will recover.
I don’t know why these women keep leaving their kids with these men that look like that She probably don’t even really know him…She should be charged with child abuse to.

Yes I agree 💯 percent they should charge her with the same crime and give her more time in prison maybe that will teach woman not to trust men living their children with really bad men do a back ground check on them I would love to shack his ass like he did that poor baby damn coward ly
