The Farmer & The Foodie, the KET cooking program in which hosts Maggie Keith and Lindsey McClave visit with Kentucky farmers to learn how their food is grown, returns this month with new episodes that savor the holiday season with an assortment of new recipes.

The new season, which premieres Saturday, Jan. 7, finds hosts Maggie Keith and Lindsey McClave learning about the benefits of draft animals and raw milk; visiting a pair of farms run by military veterans; harvesting and feeding sorghum through a 100-year-old mill; exploring Kentucky’s native fruit, the pawpaw; and rolling up their sleeves on a Henry County shrimp farm.

The Farmer & The Foodie
KET Saturday, Jan. 7 • 3:30/2:30 pm Stream at KET.org and the PBS Video app

Each episode goes behind-the-scenes with Kentucky farmers to see first-hand how the food is made, and then the hosts take what they’ve learned into the kitchen to create a delicious meal to share with their guests!

Recipes from all the dishes made on The Farmer & The Foodie are available for downloading at KET.org/Farmer&Foodie.

And for a sneak peek into the new season, be sure to catch Maggie and Lindsey in their KET WinterPledge special in which they look at highlights from Season 2 and share what’s coming up in Season 3.

The Farmer and The Foodie Season 3 Special KET Thursday, Dec. 1 • 8/7 pm
