Rotary met for its weekly meeting on Thursday, March 30. After the opening prayer, Pledge of Allegiance and four way test, the Rotarians recognized the recent anniversaries of Chris Jobe and Greg Kiser.

In announcements for the week, Judge Executive John Osborne announced that the Lawrence County garage has their free dump on Saturday, April 1. It was also announced that the following Saturday, April 8 is Yatesville Lake Clean-up. Everyone is encouraged to come out and help keep our lake clean and beautiful.

Students from L to R Winter Bowling Halie Rosser Ethan McKenzie and Cameron Maynard

The speakers for the week were 4 Lawrence Co. High School students from Miss Case’s accounting class. The students will be competing in the Governor’s Entrepreneurs Challenge, a tiered business pitch competition for any Kentucky high school student. It is intended to introduce students to a realistic competitive business environment, as well as promote business ownership and leadership. The Regional round will be held at the University of Pikeville on April 13. The students are competing for scholarship money.
