1925 – 2016

Rosa Barbara Zak-Andrews, 91 of Paintsville passed away on Friday, September 16, 2016 at Three Rivers Medical Center in Louisa following a brief illness.

She was born in Vienna, Austria on May 13, 1925 to the late Joseph and Rosa Zak. She was an Executive Housekeeper at the East End Hotel for Women in New York City as well as a Medical Records Clerk at the St Claire’s Hospital in New York City.

She leaves behind a loving and caring family incuding one daughter Linda Puig of Paintsville; one grandson Franklin Puig of Paintsville; three granddaughters Frances Elvins and her husband Christopher of Barboursville, WV, Elizabeth Puig of Paintsville and Yolanda Puig of Louisa; five precious great grandchildren Heath Harless, Sara Harless and Madison Mollette all of Paintsville and Grace and Gabrielle Elvins of Barboursville, WV; one brother Fritz Zak; one niece Helga Fabian; one great niece Hella Fabian all of Vienna, Austria.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 19, 2016 at 12 noon at the Young Funeral Home Chapel in Louisa with Rev. Rex McConnell, MD officiating. Burial will follow at the Lakeview Memorial Cemetery in Paintsville.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Sunday, September 18, 2016 from 6-8 pm at the Young Funeral Home in Louisa.
