Robert Eugene Short, 85, of Ulysses, KY passed away Thursday, October 11, 2018 at his home.

Mr. Short was born October 7, 1933 in Louisa, KY to the late Taylor and Millie Dalton Short. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth A. Short.

Robert is survived by his wife Sally Estep Short, two daughters, Sharron Winegardner and husband, Thomas of Glenford, OH and Samantha Blakeman and husband Roy of Ulysses, KY; one son, Robert Short and wife Peggy of Louisa, KY; three step-daughters, Mary Sue Daniels and husband James of Paintsville, KY, Sharon Blanton and husband Tony of Flat Gap, KY, and Sherry Bush of Paintsville, KY, and one step-son, Joe Howard and wife Debbie of Ulysses, KY. He also leaves behind nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and numerous step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren.

Robert was a retired coal miner for Martin County Coal and of United Baptist Faith. He loved his family, walking, attending church, coon hunting, fishing, and being outdoors.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, October 15th, 2018 at 11am at Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. James Vanhoose officiating. Burial will follow in Yatesville Memorial Gardens.

Friends may visit the family on Saturday, October 13th from 6-9pm at Wilson Funeral Home and on Sunday, October 14th from 2-6pm. Care has been entrusted to Wilson Funeral Home.
