ROADS TO GET REPAIRS LISTED AT COUNTY NOVEMBER MEETING

Lawrence County Fiscal Court had their November meeting via Zoom with the courthouse being closed due to the rise in Covid cases in Lawrence County. The press was invited to join the Zoom meeting via pass code. Members participating were magistrates Rick Blackburn, Mike ‘Mouse’ Halcomb, Paul Pinson and John Scaggs as well as judge/executive Phillip Carter and other members of the local county government.

Agenda:

  • Opening Prayer
  • Pledge of Allegiance
  • Call Meeting to Order
  • Approve minutes of the October 20th meeting-Accepted
  • Approve 2nd Reading of the Budget Amendment #2-Accepted
  • Approve Treasurer’s Request-Accepted
  • Approve Bills-Accepted
  • Approve Treasurer’s Report-Accepted
  • Approve Agreement and Resolution between LC Fiscal Court and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Discretionary Funding-Accepted.

 

The Department agrees to reimburse the LPA up to $491,240.00 for completion of work by the LPA, or consultants, contractors, or subcontractors hired by the LPA. Patching/resurfacing of the following county roads:

  • Cresley Branch Road from Ky 23 extending westerly for approximately 0.5 miles
  • Diamond Ridge Road from Ky 1 extending southerly for approximately 0.5 miles
  • Bob White Road from Greenbriar Road extending southerly to the end of the county maintenance for approximately 0.508 miles
  • Blankenship Branch Road from Blankenship Hollow Road extending westerly to the end of county maintenance for approximately 0.408 miles
  • Blankenship Hollow Road from Yellow Creek Road extending westerly for approximately 0.780 miles
  • Blaine Creek Road from Ky 707 extending easterly for approximately 1.00 miles
  • Clayton Branch Road from Ky 3395 extending northerly for approximately 0.500 miles
  • Nats Creek Road from Burgess Branch Road extending southerly to the end of county maintenance for approximately 1.59 miles
  • Bucks Branch Road from Ky 3 extending westerly to Three D Road for approximately 0.420 miles.
  • Greenbriar Road from Ky 3396 extending westerly for approximately 0.750 miles
  • Deer Lick Road from Ky 32 extending northerly for approximately 0.500 miles
  • See Branch Road from US 23 extending westerly for approximately 0.400 miles.

    I hope the “patching/resurfacing” is better than what they have been doing!!! I huge waste of money. It would be better to use the asphalt in one continuous stretch instead of doing a few feet at a time. The beginning and ending of the “patch” is more like a SPEED BUMP!!! I guess it’s too hard to feather out the ends.

    Has anyone been on OldTerryville road lately in Martha, yes also Lawrence county, there’s a rut down the middle of the road because of the ditch , why can’t you all clean out the ditches stupid only need a shovel , in certain places ,

      the county need to help the city out on some of there roads we pay county taxes also in fact probably carry a lot of the freight come on Rick you represent us also
