August 22, 2022 , NEW SCHOOL ZONE –  Riverbend Road at the intersection for The Millard School has been approved the City of Louisa and Lawrence County for a school zone area.
New signage has been put in place which designate the times from 7:15am till 8:15am and 2:30pm till 3:30pm as a reduced speed area during those times on school days.
Lowering the speed from 25 mph to 15 mph will help increase the safety for the children unloading and loading.

Given the fact that there are no buses involved (it’s a private school) and the school is completely off the main road and up on a hill, how is lowering the speed going to make loading and unloading safer? Nobody is going to drop their child off in the middle of the road and make them walk all the way to the school. Just another opportunity to establish a “fee collection area”. Will they hide in their cruisers at the top of the hill or the bottom? We’ll see!!!

So can we no longer use this road during these times if we have a firearm in our vehicle?
