Rita K. Scarberry, 56, of Louisa, KY went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 3, 2024. Rita was born February 13, 1968 to Mack and Frieda (Burchett) Laney.

Rita loved the Lord and was a member of Smokey Valley Enterprise Baptist Church. She was devoted to serving in any way possible, from working with the children and  organizing the hanging of the greens. Rita was the Ladies Auxiliary President, a Mary Kay Consultant, and a dental hygienist.

Survivors include her parents Mack and Frieda Laney; husband Richard Scarberry; children Kaitlynn (Matt) Mullins, Jared Pack, and Nicholas Scarberry; grandchildren Isabelle Mullins and Levi Mullins; siblings Michael (Natalie) Laney, Sherry (Sammie) Pack, and Christopher Laney; a multitude of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Friends may visit the family on Saturday, July 6, 2024 after 6:00 PM in the Young Funeral Home and Sunday, July 7, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Smokey Valley Enterprise Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, July 7, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Smokey Valley Enterprise Baptist Church with Pastor Michael Horn, Brother Doug Kelley, and Brother Ronnie Wheeler officiating. Burial will follow in the Laney Cemetery.

Young Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Mrs. Scarberry and her family.
