Ricky Bowens 

1960 — 2018

 

Ricky Bowens, 57, of Fort Gay, WV went home to be with the Lord on Sunday April 22, 2018 surrounded by his loving family.

Ricky was born July 25, 1960 at Louisa, KY, the son of the late Oscar and Dicie Ratcliff Bowens. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Claude Bowens. He was a disabled mechanic and carpenter and a member of the New Life Outreach Church.

Survivors include his loving wife Susan Evans Bowens; three daughters Elaina Parsons, Anna Bowens, and Alisha Whitt all of Fort Gay; three sons Evan Oscar Bowens and Joshua Parsons both of Fort Gay, and Richard Aaron Bowens of Louisa; two grandchildren he raised Brittany Smith and Olivia Robertson; and grandchildren Madison Hope Parker, Natalie Bowens, Kyleigh Bowens, Cierra Bowens, Brady Jackson Parker, Austin Garn, Dalton Davis, Destiny Garn, and Tristan Garn; special friends Jimmy Gilliam and Sherman Holland, four brothers Randall, Gary, Roger, and Larry Bowens; three sisters Diane Grim, Barbara McCormick, and Bessie Bowens; and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 pm at the Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Ray Church and Rev. Steve Ramey officiating. Burial will be in the Bowens Family Cemetery at Meeting House Road Fort Gay, WV.

Friends may visit the family on Tuesday from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Wilson Funeral Home.

Care has been entrusted to Wilson Funeral Home.
