Repairs Scheduled for KY 3 in Lawrence County
Starting June 8th 2022

Lawrence County – June 6, 2022- Contractor, CSI, will begin work on KY 3 at mile point 7.2 in Lawrence County to repair an embankment failure starting Wednesday, June 8th 2022.  The project area is located along KY 3 at 7.52 miles north of KY 292 and 5.30 miles southeast of KY 644.

Work is projected to take approx. 3 weeks to finish and will consist of drilling vertical steel rails and using horizontal cribbing material to stabilize the roadway. Large equipment will be required to do this work, which will restrict the roadway widths during construction, because of this, traffic will be reduced to one lane. However, in areas where the roadway widths are too narrow, traffic will be stopped periodically. Expect long delays between the hours of 7:30am and 6:30pm Monday through Friday. Traffic lights will be used to control traffic for the duration of repairs.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and Contractors understands the inconvenience to the public these repairs may cause, and we will do our best to limit delays. As always, slow down and use extra precaution when traveling in a construction zone.
