REP. JILL YORK RECEIVES PATTON EDUCATION ADVOCACY AWARD

State Rep. Jill YorkFRANKFORT, Ky. (February 9, 2017) – Recently, Representative Jill York, R-Grayson, was named the recipient of the Kentucky Valley Educational Cooperative’s (KVEC) Patton Education Advocacy Award in recognition of her leadership and commitment to support public education. KVEC works to fuel a new economy for Eastern Kentucky through promoting innovation in K-12 education.

“Education strengthens each of us individually and our community as a whole” said Rep. Jill York. “My time in Frankfort has been dedicated to promoting and improving public education here in Kentucky, and it is an honor to receive the Patton Education Advocacy Award. I am grateful to KVEC for their diligent work and commitment to improve the lives and learning experiences of every student in Eastern Kentucky, ensuring that every child receives a world-class education.”

Rep. York has been an active legislator in promoting and supporting public education through the General Assembly. She serves on the House Education Committee, as well as the Elementary & Secondary Education Committee.

Rep. York represents House District 96, which includes the counties of Carter and Lawrence.
