PAINTSVILLE, KY. — An attempt to break through two concrete walls at the Big sandy Regional Detention Center yesterday was thwarted by the jail staff before any escape was possible.
As yet unknown prisoners at the facility attempted to break through a concrete wall and planned on doing the same to an outside wall.
Jail administrator F.D. “Pete” Fitzpatrick issued the following statement to the press this morning (Oct. 16):
