Newly elected officials were sworn in to serve Lawrence County citizens Wednesday morning in front of a full courthouse in the new judicial center on U.S 23.  For the most part the crowd was red as the GOP takes over the entire fiscal court for the first time in anybody’s memory.

The Ceremony took place at the Lawrence County Judicial Center at 11:30 A.M. Addiction Recovery Care sponsored the event and The CEO of Addiction Recovery Care, Tim Robinson was the Master of Ceremonies.

Chuck Price,  Pastor of The First Baptist Church of Louisa did the Invocation.  A beautiful rendition of the National Anthem was sung by Michelle Scaggs, wife of John Scaggs the new District 2 Magistrate.

John David Preston,  Circuit Judge gave the Administration of Oath of office to the elected officials, and the Benediction by Pastor Rick May of Louisa Community Fellowship Church.

Newly elected County Judge Executive Phillip Carter had some remarks about his new role, stating, “Today marks the second occasion that the citizens of Lawrence County have elected me into office as the County Judge Executive. I am grateful for this opportunity to take the experience I’ve gained over the years in business,  government and life in general and put it to work in Lawrence County.”

The Ceremony ended with food catering from Tess’s Kitchen from Ft. Gay.

Get ready for the needle exchange to be brought up again. Master of Ceremonies and one member on the fical court, Hmmm, the groundwork is being laid. Alright Carter, let’s see how you handle that. You know the voters don’t want it. Do not let them persuade you.

I couldn’t agree more. Everyone dislikes this. We are the drug rehab capital of the US.

Are you all seriously that backward? Rehab works and is a reality. ARC is giving addicts hope and a lot of people good jobs. We should support anything that helps people in multiple ways.

I totally agree, I was born n Louisa n the Old General Hospital n 1955, I would love for my hometown to be the way it was!!! To much progress for me.

Why did you take the persons post down that was telling it like it is with ARC? In my opinion it was true. ARC has brought in more addicts than the ones they’ve helped.

      No verifiable email address.

I call bull crap on no verifiable email!!! You are just biased and don’t want the negative truths about ARC!!! You verified the email and you can see if your message was opened, which it was. All you put was “test”. I would appreciate it if you’d repost it.

Totally agree with you Lynn. The citizens know it’s bad for Lawrence County and the city of Louisa but the local politicians are not listening to the majority of our citizens. They are in bed with this addiction center group.
